Mt Shasta
February 22nd, 2015 by mica
We had the week off of school and headed to Mt Shasta for adventure. The weather was unbelievably warm and kind to us. We spent this sunny afternoon out at Lake Siskiyou and should have brought our swimsuits with us!
Ronan was working on engineering canals.
I took the kids into town one afternoon for a painting class where they played with acrylics and landscape. Ronan chose to paint Mt Shasta.
And Austin a garden scene with rainbow butterflies:)
She asked me to take her picture by this dog!
Austin has taken to horses, as well as most any other animal. She told a woman in Shasta that she’d like to be a “pet-erinarian” when she grows up! We found her a riding lesson on a ranch in Weed, a few miles north of Shasta, and Austin was in heaven. She learned to brush the horse and was taught to gallop. Away they went into the country!
Ronan worked on making hay balls for the horses and visited each one to hand out this special treat. And umm, what a view!
And a little rock climbing to round it all out.
More to come from Gentry’s camera soon…
