Fall moments

The hillside at Byrne is turning green and it is such a welcome change. With the deer returning and our new plants starting to sprout, home is a hard place to leave…
Away from home, we are having plenty of adventure too. Gentry traveled to Japan while we joined Ronan’s class for a trip to Pigeon Point Lighthouse.
Ronan stole away with my camera and was enthralled with the seaside, shooting pictures of the tide pools and sunset. He later went on to edit his photos and put them together in a slide show for his classmates. It was fun to watch him go at it with something he really cared about…
Austin is thriving at school and continues to light up when she sees her friends.
She loves visiting San Francisco. We had a “ladies trip” this past weekend and it was so fun to let her lead the show. We went out to eat, painted pictures together, spent hours at the dog park and wandered the streets looking for art, people and animals.
A few weeks ago, Ronan celebrated his birthday with a small group of friends at Byrne. He designed a campout experience– complete with an egg hunt, smores over the fire pit, an outdoor movie and a morning pancake party. From start to finish, he designed the whole experience and loved, loved watching his guests enjoy themselves. Here’s the packing list he made for the campout:
And one of the tents that Gentry and Ronan found at REI. Oh, the wonderful products those two find together!
