Saturn
We did it! 8 bottles of glue, a dozen newspapers, two cans of spray paint, a giant balloon and one jar of glitter later, Saturn emerged. (And did I mention the invaluable help of Martin, a friend and designer from Germany, who led us into the paper mache project?)
Putting on the final touches:
Even though I’m not of the crafty persuasion and I’m fine if I never paper mache again, it was all worth it as I watched Ronan proudly move about at school today. Sometimes as a parent, I wish that he was “easier” and more “normal” and that we could just pick out a costume from Old Navy and be done with it. But in his dedication to his ideas and his unwavering commitment to realizing whatever concept his mind has set forth, I get to witness something new and delightful being born.
And something else that I love about Ronan- he is not afraid to be different. Social convention is not at the forefront– translating his ideas into creations are what motivate him. Sound like anyone else we know? :)

Hi Ronan, your Saturn turned out very nice. I hope you enjoyed wearing it. Your passion for our solar system and the great bejond made me feel like I have a black hole in my brain when it comes to interplanetary knowledge. I will now do my homework, learn more so I can follow you in our next conversation. Keep it up Bunderwoods! Hope I can orbit your backjard again soon.
