Fortunate Again
Bear with me as we travel back in time to catch you up on the last few months!
Casa Guinda was lucky to have Grandma Carol with us for most of March. I am grateful for the love of learning she inspires in the kids, her many project ideas, her willingness to lend a hand whenever she can, and her genuine care for all the kids. Here’s the crew starting in on an egg dying project:
A few days before Grandma Carol’s departure, Lisa pulled Ronan aside and proposed the idea of planning a goodbye party for her. Ronan took to the idea immediately and with great gusto. He worked with Lisa to draw and write a checklist of what they’d need to make or find at the store. He delighted on working with Lisa to put together the many preparations for the party. Here he is, making sure that everything is just right. He reviewed the checklist several times to make sure he hadn’t forgotten anything. Donuts in place with a candle (and the donuts had to be divided exactly so that everyone could sample a bite of each kind. I tell you, math can be involved in everything!) Table decorations, a flower, a card, a present. You know, all the good stuff.
I love the look of delight on Ronan’s face as he watches her “discover” the party and her presents:
Here’s to another wonderful stay with Grandma Carol and to a house that we are all very fortunate to inhabit together:
