Happy Birthday To You!

Last week we had a simple and fun gathering of friends for Austin’s birthday. She wanted her party at the park, in the theme of rocketship (wherever did she get that idea?). She had very specific ideas for how the party would go– rocket candles, a vanilla cake that she’d decorate with sprinkles and chocolate chips, lots of snacks, and lots of friends. Everyone she found on the street, quite literally, she wanted to invite to her party. I helped to narrow down the invite list!

And being together with friends. She has such an amazing social capacity. She knew the invite list of friends by heart and would check in with me to see if a missing friend was on his way.
Unfortunately, I did not capture a picture of the juggling act. Austin asked for someone to come to her party to “jiggle.” After a while, I realized what she meant and Dadda pulled out his tricks to juggle tangerines for a little party sideshow. He’s a man of many talents:)
