Wanderings

This morning we set off on the Crosstown shuttle to the train station. Ronan and Austin were thrilled to go on so many forms of public transit in one morning. I loved avoiding the car and carseats, having a kid sized adventure with them, and meeting new people along the way. Ro and Austin got quite a few laughs as they sat waiting for the train:
We only had time for a short train ride, but it seemed like a grand trip to the kids. They ordered breakfast treats, played by the fountain and raced to see how many Equal packets they could cram in their pockets.
As always, Birdie’s smiles and curls invite new conversation.
In the afternoon, Ronan headed to Science Camp, a much anticipated event. Yesterday, he came home from Science Camp and told me, “I like friends, but I like learning even more!” Good self awareness:) Besides soaking in information on invertebrates and metamorphosis and everything else, he’s starting to do some basic drawing and letter writing. It’s been fun to see his progress over the last few weeks from squiggles to beginning shapes and forms.
Playing with Nana this afternoon, he took over the alleyway with his chalk, drawing houses and sunshines and all kinds of fun.
