Zip Line

July 16th, 2012 by mica
We spent July 4th at an amazing party north of San Francisco.  One of the highlights for the kids was a zip-line across the yard.  Gentry worked with Ronan and inched him further and further up the line, until he felt brave enough to fly down it on his own.  After he figured out how fun it was, he wanted to do it over and over again.  I love watching Ronan conquer his fears.

Birdie is a different story.  She has daredevil blood in her.  After she saw Ronan on the zip-line, she decided that she wanted to do it too.  Our little 2 year old grabbed on tight and sped away with such force that she landed face down in the dirt at the end of the line.  No tears or complaints.  She got up and exclaimed with a smile, “I did it!  I did it!” She wanted to do it over and over again and I assumed the job of small child catcher at the end of the line.  To the disappointment and anxiety of some of the other parents, the brave and giddy 2 year old was an indicator that their small child might be able to ride the zip line too.  I love her determined and adventurous spirit.
