Austin’s Birthday

March 3rd, 2012 by mica
It’s my birthday and I’m too excited to sleep! Quite literally.  Here is Austin after her “nap.”  I went to see her in her room and she was rolling around and giggling in her crib, saying “I can’t sleep!  I can’t sleep!”  She knew that a party and cupcakes would soon follow.

We had a very casual birthday party at one of Austin’s favorite parks.  The girl loves her swings.

Earlier that day, Ronan “helped” Austin by offering to open her presents.  He was also very sweet to bring her string cheese in bed as soon as she woke up for the day.

Ronan- taking his job very seriously.

And an even happier girl “frosting” her real cupcakes.  Don’t worry friends, we didn’t serve you any of the cupcakes that Austin worked on.

Here she is again, as proud and excited as can be.

Every once in a while (when I remember), I write a few thoughts in journals for the kids.  Here’s a little snippet of what I wrote for Austin: “You are two.  So full of life.  So full of love.  You give hugs and kisses to baby dolls when they fall.  You ask me to pretend cry so that you can hug me and ask if I feel better.  You love to take care of people, are naturally affectionate, and have a smile so cute it is sometimes hard to handle.  You bring joy to us all.”
