Personality

September 10th, 2011 by mica
A few days ago I posted on “togetherness” and the relationship that is evolving between Ronan and Austin. Today, I’m reflecting more on their separateness, on how two children from the same set of parents came into the world with such drastically different personalities. I think nature might be winning out over nurture. Austin is in love with the park and all the “peeple” she sees there. She loves making faces, smiling and meeting all the new babies.

At home, she throws on necklaces and hats (or makeshift hats from sheets, here below).

She loves spending time with Dadda and at the pool. She is full of joy and also full of spunk. She knows what she wants and is not shy to assert herself.

Ronan is a lover of projects. He creates elaborate visions in his mind that he must see to fruition. Beware he/she who might interrupt his project midstream. He enjoys building and crawling into small spaces (like paper towel boxes) to have parties. Often times he creates “nests” where he can have some quiet and alone time– a brilliant way for a budding introvert to get his needs met.

He approaches most tasks with focus and interacts with the world with a deep sense of curiosity and wonder.

They’re both mine but they reveal to me a broad spectrum of character traits that challenge me to approach them as individuals, which in the end, seems to be very enriching for us all.
