A collection of shots from the past few weeks…

Ro, Austin and I made another trip out to Ardenwood with a few friends from preschool.  A week prior to our trip, Ronan began creating a concoction for his chicken friends at the farm.  He called it “spicy eggs.”  The recipe consisted of hardboiled eggs, chile powder, snap peas, chocolate syrup, and a huge amount of salt.  Delicious.  Ronan dutifully asked every morning about the spicy eggs and when would we be going to Ardenwood?  I prepared myself for his sadness in the event of the chickens’ rejection of “spicy eggs,” but much to his delight, they gobbled up the lunch he brought for them.  Hopefully we didn’t create too much intestinal distress for the little chickens…

In addition to his focus on cooking, Ronan takes his other “jobs” very seriously.  At preschool, I’m in charge of sweeping the yard and Ronan has now appropriated the duty of sweeping around the sandbox.  He runs to greet me after preschool and grabs for my broom!
The other obsession of late– cutting everything he can get his hands on with scissors.
You can’t work all the time.  Sometimes you need a break for a sweet treat:
An amazing home/maze/sculpture/art made entirely of sticks and twigs.  See Ronan in the entry-way for scale.

On Sunday we were invited to two birthday parties at Pump-it-Up, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.  What luck for Ronan– lots of play time and cake twice in one day?  Ronan had never been to this place before, but once he got a hang of the climbing wall and the slide, he’d run up to me and excitedly ask “again?”  He’d then sprint full force to the start of the obstacle course, covered in sweat and with a huge smile across his face.

Our little lady with a characteristically Austin smile on her face.  She continues to be filled with joy, love, and grins for all.

And what better way to end this post than with a picture of Ronan’s two animal friends.  He kindly peeled tangerines and set the table for them to eat breakfast…

A happy weekend to you all!
