Catch up

We’ve had a busy last few weeks and I wanted to share some of what we’ve been up to!
We drove to San Francisco a few weekends ago to surprise Becky for her birthday. Austin worked very hard on her cake…After researching the proper care of his fish, Ronan learned that the small 1/2 gallon tank was inhumane for his Beta. He worked with Gentry to find a better fish tank with more space for the fish and warmer water. Austin helped prepare the floating garden of radish sprouts and wheatgrass that cleans the tank!
A few days ago, we had an unfortunate incident at school. Ronan took a fall from the monkey bars and broke his arm in two places. Definitely bad timing with the start of summer and a no-plan-summer except for swimming. He was very proud to take the cast to school the following day and tell all the kids about his broken “ulna” and “radius.” He felt very popular for a few days as kids came to hear his story and sign his cast.
We are experimenting with different waterproof cast covers so that he can still spend some time in the pool. Not much luck yet. I think skinny bones might need to grow a little more in his upper arms!
My happy loves, enjoying the sunshine, the pool and each other.
Austin “fancied” herself up for a friend’s birthday party. Found every imaginable piece of jewelry and painted her nails 10 different colors. Wow!
And here she is making a sign for Byrne Park Fun Camp, which officially began today. We have a group of 14 campers spending the mornings with us this week. More to come, I’m sure!
