Cabin

September 30th, 2014 by mica

This past weekend our family had a visit from pops AND a trip to the cabin.  What a wonderful combination.

As Ronan and Austin get older and their legs get stronger, hikes that were once grueling (for us all) have become much more enjoyable outings.  I was surprised by how fun it was to climb to the ridge line with them and wander in the woods.  Here-s Ronan finding and following the trail for us.  He is really at his best out in the wilderness:

At the top of the ridge, we stopped in to see old friends and Austin was delighted to hold Pepper on her lap.

A cabin trip would never be complete without a campfire and the world-s best sandwich:)

It was really special to share the cabin with Pops and to have him be a part of a place that is so magical for our family.  He slipped right into it as a cabin natural:)

Lots of down time to play with friends and to create.  The pack of kids in the neighborhood found each other and were off exploring!

Two kiddos who genuinely love each other.

And after the rains passed, a beautiful sunset view from our back porch.  Pops reminded us that these are the best of days and we were so glad to share them with him.
