Outer Space

With Austin at preschool on Tuesday mornings, Ronan and I have some precious time carved out to be together. And because Ronan is completely and totally “into outer space these days” as he says, I thought we’d check out the NASA museum and research center. Before the museum opened, we headed over to Krispy Kreme for a little treat.
Of course, everything for Ronan centers around learning how things are made and donuts are no exception. I’ve never really studied how the glaze ends up on the donuts and where the leftover sugar falls or how exactly donuts are filled with jelly, but after some time with Ronan, I’m now much more of an expert on the donut assembly line.
We then headed into the museum and Ronan excitedly ran from exhibit to exhibit, asking me to explain what he was seeing and filling me in on facts about the planets and moon.
Inside a replica of a space shuttle. Learning about astronaut food was a big hit.
It’s really fun to have these windows of time where we can delve into what Ronan loves doing. He is a kid with such deep interests and curiosities.
