Canoe

July 18th, 2012 by mica
Something that I love about Gentry is that when he has an idea in mind, he quickly and strategically finds a way to realize it.  We discussed looking for a boat or kayak or some other means to get the family onto the water.  I’ve dreamed of exploring the lakes out by the cabin.  After focused research and a craigslist inquiry, he was visiting a man in the East Bay who just happened to collect canoes in well-maintained condition.  The next thing I knew, Gentry was in front of the house, with an enormous canoe tied to the top of his car.  And a few days later, we headed to Utica for our first trip.

The canoe fits the four of us and is light and swift across the water.  My jobs on the boat– to make sure the children stay in it and to enjoy the beautiful scenery.  I’m excited to visitp the gazillion lakes around the cabin.
