Preparing for Christmas
January 4th, 2012 by mica
One of my favorite parts of being at the cabin are the preparations we make for Christmas. To me, it feels simple, fun and true to the spirit of the Holiday.
Here we are at the very beginning of the trip, getting oriented to the cabin, the roaring fire and the new backpacks for the cabin adventures ahead:
Birdie getting ready to chop down the Christmas tree in the forest:)
Our mountain man in action.
The kids were excited to find a patch of snow!
Getting all sugared up.
Decorating Christmas cookies for Santa.
Cookie decorating video with a surprise ending:
The tree all ready for Christmas Eve.
And our beautiful fireplace. What a story this fireplace is! The stones were hand picked, mostly from our yard, and carefully and artistically chipped and molded and fit together by an old-time craftsman. We were lucky to sit our bodies in front of this fire every day. I’m ready to go back to it!
