Christmas Day

January 23rd, 2011 by mica
Gentry and I awoke in the early, early morning to Ronan’s screams, wondering if the day had begun.  (Our rule-abiding child is always careful to not step foot out his door until he’s received affirmation that it is indeed daytime).  We sent him back to sleep once, but indulged his curiosity on the second rousing.

He was greeted with the proof that he’d been looking for– Santa had indeed visited the cabin.
One of Ronan’s favorite surprises was the yogurt raisins he found in his stocking.  To this day, if you ask what Santa brought him, he’ll enthusiastically say, “yogurt raisins and a glow stick.”  It doesn’t take much, does it?  :)
I think Austin liked the wrapping paper the most.

Getting suited up for the snow…

After digesting the cinnamon rolls, Christmas cookies and yogurt raisins, we ventured out for a hike in the forest behind the cabin.  I’m still in awe that we can get to such a beautiful place as this after just a few minutes on foot.
We discovered that Ronan has a new snow sport– sliding.  Either on his bottom or his stomach, he loved pushing himself down the hills.  He thought it was hilarious that he could slide faster than Gentry could catch him.
He also learned that it is a lot of fun if your dad hurls you in the air only to sink into the soft snow below.
Taking a break to throw snowballs.
The little lady, snuggled up in her pink cocoon.
Not a bad way to spend Christmas.
