School’s Back

Today marked the beginning of a new preschool year. We were up bright and early getting dressed for the day.
Ronan was very excited to sport his new Curious George lunchbox. When packing his lunch, he was sure to tell me that he’d start with the granola bar, then have the drink box and sandwich and certainly skip the apple. Pretty soon I’ll be hearing stories about him trading snacks:)
All ready for the day…
Because of Ronan’s birthday, he is the youngest in the class. But this didn’t seem to hold him back. After a few minutes of exploring, he settled down to make “fish tacos for everyone.” A few minutes into his pretend cooking, he calmly said “goodbye mama.” I took my cue and headed home.
When I returned a few hours later, I was greeted with a huge hug and smile. He told me about playing in the sand, drawing a pumpkin and making “cupcakes” for the class. The teachers said he did beautifully (especially for such a little guy) and joined right in to all of the activity. It is fun to watch the little guy explore and thrive in this special place.
