Pinkeye

February 17th, 2010 by mica
So, the dreaded pinkeye descended upon Ronan last week. We were quarantined from all friends and social interactions for a few days. In a strange way, it felt like we were given a wonderful opportunity to slow down and spend some focused one-on-one time together.
Almost every time I take Ronan out in the stroller, he asks to go and see the “lift.” We were lucky to find this lift in action. The mechanics got a kick out of Ronan and indulged us with a few extra raisings and lowerings of the lift. Big smiles all around and lots of “Ronan upset to leave the lift” comments throughout the morning.

Extended playtime in the bath:

Ro’s crazy about his bunny towel.

He also loves spending time with the orange tree in our yard and cutting into oranges with his “knife” (wooden stick) to see if the delights are ready to eat.

He is also entering into the world of imaginary play, which is great fun for me to experience. This box, for example, became his boat that he decided to fly high up into the sky.

And last, but not least, is the strip of pebbles down the street from us. We have spent many, many hours here this past week, sorting through rocks, filling buckets and dumping them out. Just yesterday Ronan built a mountain of pebbles that he made home for a little rock-shaped “horse.” He put a “bib” on the horse and continued to feed him large quantities of cookies and sugar (all made of rocks, of course). I wonder where he got his sweet tooth from? Much fun to watch Ronan blossom into this next stage.
