The Octopus and the Sleeping Tunnel

The other day I came home from work to find Ronan hounding his mother for a blanket. “Blanket” he said, loudly, while we exchanged greetings. “Ronan want blanket. Mama, Ronan want blanket.”
Turning to Ronan I asked him what he wanted a blanket for. He lead me to the coffee table to show me the “sleeping tunnel” he had created “for the octopus”. All his masterpiece lacked, of course, was a blanket.
I went back to the kitchen, grabbed a dish towel, helped him drape it over the top of his creation, and grabbed my iPhone and turned on the video camera:
This whole thing — the octopus, the bed/house/whatever, even the need to keep quiet around it — was his creation. Pretty clever 25-month-old…
