A Day in the Hood

November 26th, 2008 by mica

After a series of confused strangers referring to Ronan as a “she,” I figured it was time for a haircut.  We cruised down to the local barber shop on University Ave where Ro was welcomed into the crowd of men watching TV, reading the paper and cracking jokes among themselves.  He was hoping for some peanut shells to throw on the ground.

He didn’t quite know what to think of the place.

And who could blame him with scissors flying around his ears and other acrobatics performed by a man in Hawaiian garb?

Mama, me and my mohawk.

Leaving the craziness of the barber shop behind, we headed for a more welcome destination– the park.  There is always trouble to be found in the sand.

Not a bad day to spend together.
